KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 11 mm, 2.15 g, 12 h), Pella, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340-328. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Bow above club to left; below, trident head to left. Le Rider 83 (D47/R40). Very rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. A splendid little coin, lustrous, fresh and sharply struck. Virtually as struck.
